Hotel

The King's Lodge is a small hotel emphasizing a relaxed, family atmosphere. It sits at the foot of French Mountain in an alcove of nature on a rise above the bay and beach road. It's located 5 - 6 miles from the city or airport. All rooms, and the entire hotel terrace, offer an exquisite view of Diego-Suarez Bay and 'Sugar Bread', the odd conical mount rising from it.

From the hotel you can walk directly to French Mountain and its hiking paths without need of a vehicle. You can also visit our Thousand Baobabs Botanical Park. Opposite the hotel, a pontoon bridge crosses the mangroves to a dock from which you can admire the view, fish, or savor a glass of wine by the bay.

A transfer service allows you to visit Diego-Suarez at virtually any time. The hotel staff is always at your service to furnish you all necessary information and comforts to make your stay enjoyable and unforgettable.
 
   
 

Rooms

The terraces of our eight rooms all feature an unobstructed view of the bay. All rooms are comfortably laid out with a desk, comfortable, clothing closet and have access to a safe. They each have a private shower and restroom. Due to our remoteness, hot water is produced by solar energy at the hotel.

Room prices for one or two persons:
45 Euros per night (not including breakfast).
Additional persons: 5 Euros each.
Children less than 12 years old --- free.


 
 
 
 

Bar/Restaurant

Our restaurant creates superb meals of French and Malagasy cuisine. You will particularly appreciate our local seafood dishes such as rock lobster, shrimp, crab and roasted or smoked fish. For smaller appetites, a snack bar is open throughout the day. The bar stocks chilled seasonal fruit juices, soft drinks, and can also prepare cocktails, rums, etc.

Continental breakfast: 6 Euros per person.
Lunch or dinners starts from 15 Euros per person.
Half board: 19 Euros per person.
Full board: 32 Euros per person.
Cocktails from 2 Euros.

 
   
 

Hikes and Excursions

Situated next to the hotel is the interpretive trail to the Thousand Baobabs Botanical Park where you may wander to find a wealth of unusual regional flora.
