Beyond our reguler trips, we offer several destinations out of the ordinary. The detailed descriptions of these trips are below, with prices after each discussion.

Cape Amber

A new destination to the top of the country to view a radical, windswept 'moonscape' of odd rock formations and strange pachypodiums and other plants. It can be combined with a visit to Windsor Castle (two days).

This archipelago is situated in the Mozambique Channel to the west of Diego-Suarez. A unique and isolated cluster of small islands, it's composed of the same kind of eroded limestone 'tsingy' as Ankarana. The small islands can be reached on local fishing boats (motorboats) after a two-hour trek by road in a 4x4, depending on the season. Overnighting on any of the islands is by camping under the stars.

Analamera Nature Reserve

This completely unique reserve has been open to tourists for only a short time. It is still lacking in all tourist infrastructure - expect a true wildnerness style stay. Exploring Analamera's secrets necessitates long walks with local carriers. It is the only place where the rare black lemurs dwell. Overnighting is by camping only.

We offer a six-day hike across Ankarana Reserve by foot. It is essential to figure at least five hours of hiking per day to fully investigate the intriguing maze of caves and forested canyons of this wild and beautiful place

An interconnected labyrinth of unexplored caves awaits your discovery. We're prepared to help you access part of the underground rivers via rubber rafts. These trips can span several days, so please inform us well in advance how much time you wish to devote, and the number of participants, so we can make special plans for this adventurous outing.

Have you ever imagined spending a week on a deserted island - like Tom Hanks in the movie Castaway ? You can live this dream! We'll drop you off on an uninhabited island with the equipment and provisions of your choice - for example a knife, lighter, champagne, live chickens.. You will experience a completely unscripted adventure. We'll come to pick you up at a previously determined date and time. This extreme excursion includes preparations and purchase of equipment and provisions, as well as a day each way for transfer to the island (and back).

We invite you to test your limits of endurance! For this unique experience, we will deposit you at a remote point in northern Madagascar. Your goal is to make it back to civilization --- the city of Diego-Suarez (about 45 - 50 miles from your departure point). If we've not heard from you after seven days, we will dispatch a relief team to find you!
