My name is York Pareik. With Lydia, my wife, we operate our company King de la Piste in Diego-Suarez (Antsiranana), at the north end of Madagascar. We offer many tours, and also welcome you to stay in our hotels, The Panorama, King's Lodge and Tsingy Lodge.

Thanks to long experience, our local guides / drivers intimately know the routes and national parks, as well as the plants and the animals of our region. Jacques, Gigi, Alexandre, Angelda or Julio will accompany you on your trips with our company. They speak all French and some English.

When I arrived from Hamburg, Germany in 1991, Madagascar's unparalleled nature and friendly people fascinated me so much that I decided spontaneously to stay. I gathered a team of helpers, and since 1995, I'm further assisted by my Malagasy wife Lydia. Our twin boys are Miro and Chris.

With our nature-oriented customers in mind, our two hotels, The Panorama and the Kings Lodge , are located 3 - 5 miles away from Diego-Suarez in the countryside. They are ideally situated -- surrounded by nature, not city. Tsingy Lodge is situated inside the national park L´Ankarana. Since my arrival in Madagascar, I've been personally involved in the protection of the environment. My most recent project has been the creation of a private botanical park.

My crew and I have planted more than 5000 baobabs in our 'tree farm'. We also reproduce numerous scarce plants, many of which are threatened and disappearing in the wild. In addition, we opened an information center to educate the local population to the challenge of preserving the environment. Since the beginning of 2009 we work together with the organisation " Grain de BAOBAB" in France.
